Charlie Harles' Angels
Monthly Donor Society

Our organization was founded with a vision to connect families and individuals with fibrous dysplasia, McCune-Albright Syndrome (FD/MAS), promote accurate, up-to-date information on FD/MAS to medical professionals, and create research opportunities.

Your ongoing, sustained support allows us to embrace our founder Charlie Harles’s spirit and look to the future, continually expanding and building our FD/MAS community, full of individuals who are both special and rare.

Monthly Giving is a “Smart Investment”

When you give monthly, you aren’t just making a donation; you’re making a strategic investment that goes a long way for everyone in the FD/MAS community:

  • $25 per month becomes a $300 annual powerhouse for patient resources.
  • $85 per month puts over $1,000 a year towards community events and the targeted advocacy that unlocks major research funding.

Becoming a monthly donor is the ultimate way to “pay it forward,” ensuring that the next person diagnosed with FD/MAS immediately finds the support and resources they need.

You can change your monthly gift at any time, and always know you’re making a meaningful difference.  Whether it’s $5 or $500 a month, your consistency is what allows us to dream big. You’ll be joining a dedicated group of supporters who ensure we stay on the front lines of research and care every single day of the year.

In Memory of Charlie Harles – 1946-2019

Charlie recognized that having a rare disease can be isolating, with many unanswered questions. Through the early power of the internet and list-serves, a small group of people with fibrous dysplasia met at the Harles’ house in 2000. While soaking in the hot tub, the group was determined to form an association to spread information about fibrous dysplasia for individuals and medical professionals. In 2004, the Fibrous Dysplasia Foundation was incorporated, and Charlie served as its president for the next 11 years. Charlie’s impact on the FD/MAS community is evident in the incredible legacy of the Fibrous Dysplasia Foundation dba FD/MAS Alliance, the community he helped build, and the research he encouraged.
