FD/MAS Alliance Research Update with Dr. Alison Boyce and Dr. Marc Wein

We are pleased to share this Research Update from June 10th, 2025, focused on recent developments in the field of fibrous dysplasia, McCune-Albright syndrome, driven by FD/MAS Alliance advocates and collaborators. The program includes presentations from Alison Boyce, MD (NIH, NIDCR) and Marc Wein, MD, PhD (Harvard Medical School), and is moderated by Michael Collins, MD our Scientific Advisory Chair and a Board Director.

Dr. Boyce is the lead investigator overseeing the NIH Natural History Study of FD/MAS and shared a presentation entitled “Burosumab: A New Treatment for Low Blood Phosphorus in Patients with Fibrous Dysplasia.”

Dr. Wein’s research is funded by the Peer Reviewed Medical Research Program, an opportunity made possible by the advocacy of FD/MAS Alliance and its advocates. His update, “New Signaling Pathways and Therapeutic Targets for Fibrous Dysplasia,” discussed his research from this federal funding mechanism.

Many may be familiar with Team FD/MAS and our Annual Team FD/MAS Research Update. However, FD/MAS Alliance’s research programs extend beyond pilot grants for fibrous dysplasia, McCune-Albright syndrome. Through programs such as federal research advocacy and the FD/MAS Patient Registry, FD/MAS Alliance works hard to advance evidence-based treatments from all fronts.

If this research and progress on evidence-based cures for FD/MAS is important to you, please consider donating to support Team FD/MAS and continued FD/MAS Alliance research initiatives.
