What happens to SSDI when I reach retirement age?

If you are receiving an SSDI payment, you WILL NOT apply for social security at retirement age.  Your SSDI payment will not change at full retirement age.

However, because you have not been working, your SSDI payment may be less than if you had worked for your full 35 years to fully earn social security.
