New chapter, same commitment

Why I support Team FD/MAS and you should too

As many of you know, I retired from the NIH last year, and in my new role as advisor and consultant, I was able to officially join the FD/MAS Alliance Board of Directors.

I’ve been involved with this organization since its founding, and I firmly believe that the FD/MAS Alliance’s advocacy, education, and research are the driving force behind advancing evidence-based treatments and a cure. I joined the board because I want to see our efforts to understand and improve treatments for fibrous dysplasia, McCune-Albright syndrome (FD/MAS) reach the lives of patients.

In the field of rare disease research, an organized patient advocacy group isn’t merely a nice idea—it’s an indispensable investment that directly translates into accelerated development of new therapies and a higher standard of care. Researchers are pushing the boundaries of metabolic bone science, but their efforts will be limited without the urgent and collective support of our community.

Join me by supporting the FD/MAS Alliance. Your immediate support is not just helpful, it’s absolutely essential. Please donate to Team FD/MAS today.

Sincerely,

Michael Collins, MD
