Salt Inducible Kinases in FD Pathogenesis – Dr. Marc Wein at the 2023 FD/MAS Community Conference and ICFDMAS Meeting
Dr. Wein shared research focusing on osteocyte biology and parathyroid hormone signaling in the context of fibrous dysplasia (FD). The study identified salt-inducible kinases (SIK) as crucial in osteoblast lineage cells, and their deletion led to FD-like phenotypes in mice. The presentation discussed ongoing projects exploring the interplay between mutant and non-mutant cells, aiming to understand FD disease progression better.
