Team FD/MAS Research Update 2023

FD/MAS Alliance Presents a Research Update:

For nine years now, Team FD/MAS has been dedicated to funding promising research projects through Team FD/MAS and the UPenn Orphan Disease Center’s Million Dollar Bike Ride. Each year, the community has supported research projects to advance FD/MAS research and, ultimately, find a treatment or cure for FD/MAS.

In 2020, Team FD/MAS led by Team Captain Cindi Brandt Levin raised  $66,263 amidst a global pandemic. This enabled Team FD/MAS and UPenn Orphan Disease Center to award a research grant to Dr. Mara Riminucci of Sapienza University in Rome. That same year, FD/MAS Alliance also worked closely with Association MAS/FD, a patient advocacy organization from France to create a funding opportunity for Dr. Ted Abel of the University of Iowa.

We revisit those projects in this 2023 Research Update. Drs. Abel and Riminucci briefly explained the continued course of their FD/MAS research and the impact Team FD/MAS grants have on their work.
